Field Applications Engineer FAE - Seattle

Job Description

As part of Intel, we will continue to apply Moore’s Law to drive the future of field-programmable gate array (FPGA) technology.  You will become a member of the Programmable Solutions Group (PSG), which has been delivering industry-leading custom logic solutions to customers since inventing the world's first reprogrammable logic device in 1984.  To take advantage of the many opportunities we see for FPGA’s, PSG is looking for great Field Application Engineers (FAEs) to join our team.

As a FAE in the PSG, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to data center customers in the Seattle area.  If you enjoy working in a technically challenging role, providing support and guidance to engineers working in the data center market, this role might be a good fit for you. 

During the customer’s product design cycle, you will be responsible for providing design assistance, including onsite visits to review designs, examine and solve customer problems, and provide suggestions on optimal ways to use Intel products to satisfy their design requirements.  You will work with teammates to identify and develop new opportunities, give product demonstrations and execute benchmarks to show product capabilities and ease of use.  Your responsibilities will include assisting with the design and implementation of solutions to our customer’s design requirements, utilizing Intel silicon, software, and IP.  Your role will also include using Intel's Enpirion power solutions to satisfy the customer’s requirements for providing the needed power for their systems.  You will need to understand competitor's strengths and weaknesses relative to the appropriate technical strategy.  You will also leverage your communication skills to communicate strategies to appropriate field and factory personnel to obtain required support and coordination.  You will need to have good presentation skills, as you will be responsible for giving product presentations, describing how Intel products provide the optimum solution to our customer’s applications.  Ultimately, your role will be to assist our data center customers throughout their development cycle to ensure successful completion of their program.


• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Five years of industry experience in FPGA, ASIC, ASSP, CPU, and/or DSP design
• Be proficient in the use of FPGA development tools
• Willing to live in the Seattle, Washington area

Additional preferred qualifications include:
• Experience in board level design
• Experience in signal integrity analysis
• Experience in embedded processor design
• Experience in OpenCL
