Power, Thermal and Performance Validation Engineer
We have an opening for a talented power, thermal and performance validation engineer for Intel Server products as a PTP validation Engineer.
You will be responsible for:
The Server IC product characterization, power and performance optimization
In addition to the responsibility for identifying opportunities, drive optimization improvements through analysis of workloads and silicon behavior.
This includes focus on pre-silicon emulation to enable PTP contents, explore, identify and optimize configurations to improve processor performance targets pre-Si.
This PTP pre-Si effort leads into post-Si with actual silicon using system validation platforms in the lab as to validate for power, performance goals as well as thermal correlation of the product.
The job requirements include but not limited to:
A very good understanding of processor architecture from power and performance optimization perspective,
Mastering Emulation systems capabilities and support for power and performance, including emulating OS based benchmarks.
System level understanding of power management flows at the hardware, firmware, and driver levels
In-depth understanding of hardware power management such as P-states and C-states.
Analysis of silicon power consumption versus pre-silicon expectations and drive resolution of thermal limits
Responsibility for server product-level optimization under various usage scenarios
Close interface with architecture, design, BIOS and platform engineers
Contribute towards performance improvements and power management optimization flows for future products.
At least a BS degree with 8+ years of experience or MS in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field with 5 years of directly related experience.
5 years or more Coding and scripting experience Assembly, Python, C++, C and 5+ years or more platform level validation and debug
Track record of practical problem solving, data analysis and documentation skills
Excellent communication and interaction skills
High level and Low level simulation/JTAG/ITP/LTB/OS debug experience.
Familiarity with CPU architecture and performance benchmarks.
Understanding and experience with OS's, FW and SW drivers
Experience with system level validation automation
Emulation systems previous experience.
