Basic Function and Scope of the Position
The Presales Engineer SE works with enterprise field sales team in Switzerland advising mainly large organizations on Intel Security/McAfee solutions and strategies. The SE will recommend Intel Security/McAfee solutions and at the same time develop a business relationship enabling the customer to enhance their overall security. The SE is expected to help architect, accelerate and close solutions to enterprise businesses within a defined set of accounts.
The candidate must perform a variety of tasks including product overviews, customized presentations and demonstrations, architecture workshops, complex solution design, proposal development, advanced product evaluations, proof of concepts and product feature/benefit discussions.
Specific Responsibilities / Functions
-Drive technical relationships with key customer accounts, acting as the Technical Account Manager whilst focusing on business development opportunities
-Act as a Technology Evangelist/Trusted Security Advisor
-The role primarily consists of providing technical support in sales presentations, product demonstrations and PoC installations, identification of the appropriate Intel Security/McAfee solutions for customers, and production of RFI/RFP responses and technical proposals across the complete line of Intel Security products.
-Required to scope and potentially deliver technical education for customers and partners. This could encompass Requirements Analysis, Planning, System Architecture/Design, Installation, Configuration, Troubleshooting, Tuning, Ongoing Knowledge Transfer, Documentation etc.
-Whiteboarding solutions to technical and architect audiences
-Develop full knowledge of Intel Security products with focus on Cloud, Content and Network Security Products to ensure optimal technical support in presales situations
-Maintain technical/industry expertise in Security Technologies and Security Architectures.
-Engage customer audience when presenting Intel Security products & services
-Demonstration of our solutions through on-site or remote customer presentations and evaluations
-Produce technical documents and proposals
-Installation & configuration assistance, where customer warrants need for 'Proof-of-Concept' Evaluation
-Build a close working relationship with sales and technical colleagues within Intel Security and our key partners-Develop strong relationships in key customer accounts
-Maintain/Achieve relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, CCNP, etc.
-Update and deliver technical training to sales colleagues
-Development of professional and personal skills, as relates to major function, related technologies, product and career advancement

Excellent communication and presentation skills verbal and written
IT Security background and IT architecture experience
Strong personal presence, capable of engaging senior management
Good team player easily forming strong and extended networks with good communication skills and comfortable communicating at all levels up to CxO
Good blend of business/commercial, sales and technical skills
Understands the market issues and trends affecting the IT Security business and Intel Security's differentiators versus the competition
Self-starter who is pro-active, creative, with lots of initiative and a positive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude
Experience in delivering trainings
Results-driven with strong goal-orientation
Comfortable/Competent with both sales and delivery activities
Demonstrable technical experience in the following areas:
Experience of IT Security, Security Architectures, IT Platforms, Network Technologies, Content Security
Ideally from a Security Team within a Consultancy Company/SI or a Security Vendor.
Willing to work and travel flexible hours to suit customer requirements.
Presentation and public speaking skills
German native or fluent in both verbal and written communication
English fluent in both verbal and written communication
French and/or Italian language skills are a plus
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, similar field or equivalent.
At least 3-6 years customer facing Sales/Systems Engineering experience is preferred
