Customer Engagement Validation Engineer

Job Description
  • Creates, defines and develops system validation environment and test suites.
  • Uses and applies emulation and platform-level tools and techniques to ensure performance to spec.
  • Responsible for the development of methodologies, execution of validation plans, and debug of failures.
  • Requires broad understanding of multiple system areas and requires interfaces with Architecture, Design, and Pre-silicon

Validation teams in improving post-silicon test content and providing feedback for future on-die debug features.

  • Proven track record of developing tools or using debug solutions for complex high-performance multi-core CPU or equivalent products.
  • Solid leadership capability and customer orientation are critical, as well as possessing initiative and a strong commitment to task are a must
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including willingness to work with others, and the ability to tolerate ambiguity and highly complex decision environments.
  • Ability to analyze, breakdown, understand complex problems and communicate solutions effectively

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related discipline plus 5+ years of experience in design for debug design and/or validation.

A Master's degree would be considered a plus.

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of HW and SW development life cycle from concept to product
  • Good experience in SW development in C/C++
  • Experience in Logic Design, VHDL, Verilog RTL, verification- Scripting in Perl, Python, TCL, or some other scripting language
  • Experience in validation or enabling silicon DFD capabilities with expertise in areas of pre-silicon and post-silicon verification/validation processes and challenges
  • Expertise in CPU/Microprocessor architecture
  • Direct experience in silicon bring-up, debug, and validation of design for debug features
  • Software Skills: Python, Perl, Assembly Language, JAVA
  • Familiarity with debugging tools like source code debuggers, GDB etc.
  • Experience with industry standard ATE test platforms
  • Working knowledge of DFT techniques for high performance processors and large complex SOCs
