Intel's Data Center Group Innovation, Pathfinding and Architecture team is seeking a distributed storage architect. Knowledge and experience in file, object and block storage required, with an emphasis on flash and storage class memory. The architect will work with CPU, fabric, and networking teams to define the capabilities and protocols, methods and ways to deliver best of breed storage architecture. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, has a broad, system-level understanding of storage, file system, Linux kernel, I/O technology, and has experience in the design of traditional and cloud storage subsystems and cloud storage software.Minimum Required Qualifications:Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related field. Minimum of 10 years experience with: Storage and Networking experience including developing, architecting, & deploying storage solutions System level architecture experience SW experience C/C++ Understanding of Linux architecture Kernel, userspace, and virtualization Experience working across organizational and geographical boundaries in ambiguous situations Additional Desired Experience: Experience Interfacing with Customers and Partners Linux Driver and/or filesystem experience Microsoft/VMWare Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the different Cloud architectures hyperconverged, tiered and for existing solutions e.g. Ceph, vSAN, Nutanix, Azure Stack, etc.. Datacenter experience DPDKAdditional Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with Cloud Storage - S3, EBS, EFS, etc.Familiarity with Intel Processors & NICs from a programming view.Familiarity with various communications protocols like Ethernet, IP, RDMA Familiarity with Packet generators, DPDK type of framework.Familiarity with OpenStack and Open Daylight is a plus.
