Senior Verification Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced engineer to contribute to the verification effort within Intel, and help drive the pre-silicon functional verification of our complex designs. The candidate must demonstrate significant prior hands-on contribution to the verification of complex designs that led to successful silicon.

The successful candidate needs to be highly pro-active, and be willing to help address whatever design and verification issues arise.

Educational requirements:

Relevant university degree, postgraduate qualification desirable


Develop C++ reference models of hardware blocks for functional verification of RTL

Develop testbenches, reusable verification components (e.g. BFMs, scoreboards) for functional verification

     Create functional verification plans

Working closely with RTL designers, specify, develop and debug constrained-random and directed testcases towards coverage driven verification closure

Develop/maintain simulation flow

Required minimum experience:

10+ years in RTL design and verification, with an emphasis on verification

Highly experienced in both block-level and system-level verification

Expert-level knowledge of SystemVerilog

Expert-level C++ and SystemC modeling experience including TLM/TLI

Strong unix and scripting experience - Perl, Python, TCL, bash, c-shell

High degree of comfort working in a verification environment that uses UVM and other methodologies

Hardware/software co-simulation, with experience of C-driven testing

Prior verification planning & execution experience in all of the following:

Conducting detailed reviews of design specs

Preparing detailed verification plans

Developing, testing, and integrating C++/SystemC models

      Developing verification components

Executing metric-driven functional verification using random stimulus coupled with covergroups and SystemVerilog Assertions

Strong communication skills, both written and oral

Attention to detail is an absolute must

Required leadership skills:

Contribute to improvements in verification productivity and effectiveness

Day-to-day management of contractors

Mentor junior staff

Conduct in-depth reviews of verification planning and execution by peers and contractors

Desired Skills:

Experience with MATLAB

Some appreciation of digital signal processing and finite precision arithmetic (word growth, rounding etc.)
