Sr. Software Engineer

Job Description

Your responsibilities include: Problem analysis, defining a solution and working with various functions to ensure it is operational. Be a part of the entire software lifecycle, from design & architecture to working with usability teams, product owners and collaborating on customer feedback, participating in Joint Development programs and showcasing and demonstrating the solution. Develop, test and have ownership of various modules all the way into production environments. You will be writing and pushing code to production on regular cadence. Be part of and help improve development best practices such as code reviews, early bug detection, documentation. Responding to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Work within and across teams to ensure that your solutions are providing value to the customers. Mentor team members and help establish technical direction and influence architectures.


Should have proven track record of in developing and designing enterprise scale web applications and services using patterns such as micro services, REST, Self-healing applications, horizontal/scale out on demand, SOA.8-12 years of relevant work experience in developing and delivering software using Agile models. Excellent programming and technical skills in Java, JSP, Javascript, Spring, REST. Excellent SQL & RDBMS knowledge. Exposure & hands on "release quality" work on non-SQL Hadoop based backend HBASE, Cassandra etc. is a huge plus. Experience using UI frameworks such as ExtJS or AngularJS is a plus. Experience using Apache technologies such as Kafka, Storm for data streaming is a plus Hands on release quality work. Experience in working with public cloud computing platforms such as AWS & Azure. Knowledge of Agile Methodologies, such as SCRUM is required. Proven track record of delivering high quality, scalable software with a cohesive user experience. Should have strong architectural, design, programming, debugging experience, and excellent problem solving skills. Have a fundamental understanding of data structures and modern cloud applications. Have expertise in development processes such as unit testing, static analysis, secure coding, continuous integration, and SDK development. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both within a team and cross-group to drive identification and resolution of issues to ship under tight deadlines along with being able to drive features into the product. Must be highly motivated with a strong passion for and commitment to software quality. Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment with minimal or no management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Should be able to articulate the problem and solution across various product teams and evangelize best practices.

Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field combined, master degree is preferred.
