Job Description As a PCIe Architect in the IP Organization PIPE, you will influence the overall vision and direction of next generation PCIe products and provide valuable technical direction in developing best in class PCIe IP products in the market. This impactful role requires a candidate who is a self-starter and possesses deep knowledge of the networking and server industries and has extensive knowledge of the PCIe Protocols, DMA and Single Root IO Virtualization Space. Your specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Actively participate in technology industry forums, PCIe-SIG, and represent/advocate for Intel PSG Monitor industry trends, provide regular updates to PSE peers and work with R&D to architect solutions both in the IP and silicon Understand and characterize real-world applications for PCIe IP for example, virtualization, hyper-scale datacenters, Backplane Connectivity Interact directly with customers to gain understanding of customer applications and use models of IP solutions. Identify key gaps and drive cross functional effort to address these gaps Work closely with IP Engineering teams and Marketing to define IP requirements and test plans, and to improve IP qualityDetermine, specify and evaluate the viability of complex hardware features and structures and ensures that software and hardware designs interface correctlyDefine, document and test processes for inclusion into technical platforms, subsystem specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibilityIdentify, analyze and resolve subsystem and/or SoC design weaknessesInfluences the shaping of future products by significantly contributing to the architecture used across design families. Provides multilayered technical expertise for next generation initiatives
The successful candidate's minimum qualifications will include the following: BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 15 years of R&D experience in the PC, Server or networking industry Extensive knowledge of communication and PCIe protocols Strong communication and presentation skills Familiar with transceiver architectures
