Software Engineer

Job Description
This position in Chrome team require proficient software developers with excellent background in Linux Kernel development and system architectural knowledge.Candidates should be able to understand customer requirements, write & review software architecture specs, develop low level design for their solutions, drive unit testing & system regression testing etc.The candidates must have good Linux kernel & driver hands-on experience. Background in hardware and platform firmware will be a plus.Software Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs, advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements, designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgement and formal software process.


1. Masters/ Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Electrical Engineering. 2. Strong hands-on experience in either firmware development, PnP development and/ or optimization, driver debugging/ integration or system validation. 3. Expertise in C, Linux device driver development & power management framework, open source SW & kernel development, Firmware Development. 4. Linux open source development/ usage experience, firmware development experience, and/ or Chrome development experience will be an added advantage. 5. Strong personal motivation and will to succeed, high standards for SW Quality. 6. Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
