DSP SW Development Engineer

Job Description

Join the 5G mobile revolution at Intel as part of the NGS organization within the Intel Communications Group.

We are looking for an experienced engineer to drive DSP software/L1 firmware development for advanced modem prototypes.

  • You will be part a team of software development engineers that develops advanced high bandwidth, low latency modem for next-generation wireless standards.
  • You will be responsible for architecting and developing DSP SW infrastructure, control software, signal processing software and firmware/drivers for custom silicon.
  • Project deliverables include C/C++ code, RTOS micro-kernels, reference models and associated documentation.

We are seeking an experienced candidate for this role.

Main job function is as follows:

  • DSP SW/L1 firmware development
  • SW validation including lab testing, system bring up and performance benchmarking

Minimum qualifications:

MS with 8+ years of experience or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 4+ years of experience

  • Background in communication systems and signal processing
  • 4+ years experience in Physical PHY layer firmware development experience for wireless modems
  • 1+ year experience for chip bring up and debugging
  • Solid knowledge in C, Matlab and assembly programming
  • Experience in Embedded S/W Programming and debugging using JTAG or Real Time Capture
  • Strong technical background in signal processing and digital communications
  • Knowledge of cellular standards especially LTE

Additional qualifications:

  • Experience with Python and scripting language is desired
  • Experience with fixed-point implementation in DSP processors is a plus.
