RF Front End Filter Design Engineer

Want to help define and deliver the next generation of wireless technologies?
Come join our team in Intel Labs as we research the fundamental breakthroughs required to create tomorrow's wireless communications. You will be a member of a research team in our RF Platform Technologies Lab focused on evaluation and development of new technologies for agile RF/microwave Front End filtering for future generation wireless systems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Your research focus will be to innovate towards high performance passive filtering with frequency/band agility and form factor as primary constraints. Your work will include design, simulated modeling, fabrication and experimental characterization of RF MEMS, ferroics ,and/or solid state hetero-structure devices at microwave frequencies. Such devices may include, tunable/switchable resonators, delay lines, phase shifters, lumped or distributed circuits including coupled RF resonator filters and matching circuits.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics or closely related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience with RF EM and MEMS circuits design, fabrication and measurements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on knowledge of thin-film nano-fabrication and devices.
  • Hands-on knowledge in compound crystals and semiconductor (e.g., AlN, GaN, GaAs, AlGaN, etc.) devices.
  • Proficiency in microstrip and multilayer RF circuit design and characterization.
  • Deep knowledge of electromagnetic and electroacoustic theory.
  • Understanding of structural mechanics and coupled, multi-domain physics.
  • Track record in RF MEMS devices designs, integration, fabrication and process technology including etching (DRIE), release, seal, deposition, patterning, Ion beam and/or laser trimming, stress measurements and characterization.
  • Advanced skills in RF and MEMS simulation tools such as COMSOL, ADS, Ansys HFSS, AWR, CST, or Coventor.
  • Proficient with programming/scripting and optimization in MATLAB.
