Job Description
Over the past decade, models of the power-performance-reliability tradeoff in silicon have enabled more than a billion dollars of additional revenue for Intel. Join the team that made this possible! The Quality and Reliability Models and Tools group QRMT is part of the Corporate Quality Network CQN, and the engineer who takes this job in QRMT will enable product reliability modeling, develop statistical models and software tools that enable performance/power/reliability/cost optimization of Intel's microprocessors, chipsets and platforms. Responsible for physical understanding, model prediction and enhancement of quality & reliability for advanced products, transistor, interconnect, assembly/package and testing process. Defines Si/assembly/package qualification requirement and responsible for product qualification or technology certification. You will utilize Intel process based models, develop thermal and electrical models of device performance and perform reliability risk assessments, taking into account advanced product and platform architectural features and usage models. You will do this work in collaboration with engineers in process technology development, product development, and technical marketing. You will collaborate with engineers implementing these models in professional-grade software tools as well as help in development of these software tools.


Must have a Ph.D. in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Material science or chemical engineering. Candidate should have a good knowledge of: 1.Understanding of statistics including design of experiments, quality assurance, and reliability statistics. A sound ability to develop mathematical models of electrical, thermal and reliability characteristics and implement them in computer code or work with developers to implement in a computer code. 2.Device physics and circuits including reliability, parametric and process sensitivities. 3.Reliability characterization of devices, integrated circuits and platforms, including hands-on static/dynamic electrical/thermal measurements, thermodynamics and heat transfer.4.Very good verbal, presentation and writing skills. Ability to work in a highly interactive environment.It will be preferred that the candidate has a good knowledge of: 1.Microprocessor and platform functionality and architecture. 2.Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming e.g. .NETC, C++, WPF, MVVM Design, JAVA and scripting such as Python is desirable but not a requirement
