Enterprise & Big Data Engineering Intern

Job Description

Come intern with our Software and System Group [SSG] and work with leading edge Intel-based data center technologies compute, storage, network and software with particular focus on SW enablement.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Study the performance of our latest technology and identify areas of improvement in performance, reliability and energy efficiency.
  • Characterize enterprise class machinery using large-scale workload evaluations assess the impact of the latest technology.
  • Setup and configure H/W and S/W to gather data in the data center lab in Chandler, AZ for several Industry or ISV specific workloads.
  • Develop performance benchmarking recipes to characterize cache, memory, and storage bottlenecks.
  • Work on path finding projects leveraging ISV workloads to influence architecture of Platforms/Technologies.
  • Performance analysis that should lead to content development to influence the ecosystem and to build reference architecture based on specific use models.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be pursuing a MS or PhD degree in Computer Science and/or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum of 9 months experience with:
• Machine architectures including multicore, multithreaded, and superscalar processors.
• Technical understanding of computer architecture.
• Computer system organization and operation.
• Computer programming, operating system programming, and performance analysis skills.

Preferred Qualifications
-Technical understanding of how hardware, operating systems, and software work together Familiarity with OS kernel and common libraries such as libc.
