Patent Operations Specialist

Job Description
The Intel Patent Group (IPG) is looking for an individual with experience in patent operations, including process/workflow oversight, process improvement, and project management. Individual will work closely with IPG attorneys, outside counsel, and Intel's inventor community in the following areas:1. US Patenting Workflows2. Law Firm Management3. Invention Submission4. Other Patent Portfolio and Project SupportResponsibilities may include, but are not be limited to:- Developing and maintaining automated workflows facilitating US patent processes and portfolio oversight- Working with IPG's software development team to create and/or improve automated workflows- Ensuring process exceptions requiring manual intervention are understood and documented, as well as resolving such exceptions- Developing and publishing procedures to outside law firms and in-house attorneys, and monitoring compliance with such procedures- Providing training for outside law firms, as well as in-house attorneys and operations staff- Engaging with Intel's inventor community to facilitate the invention submission process- Assisting other members of IPG's operations team with various audits and resolution of data integrity issues- Supporting IPG's in-house attorney team on a variety of patent portfolio development efforts and related projects


An ideal candidate should possess 5+ years of experience in patent operations or a related field, including experience with intellectual property management software, process oversight (both automated and manual), and project management. Although this is not a paralegal position, experience with US patent prosecution is an advantage.Additional qualifications include:- Strong organizational skills and the ability to simultaneously engage on multiple projects- Independent worker who is able to balance planned project work with ad-hoc requests- Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse population of inventors and attorneys distributed globally- Ability to comprehend and perform complex data reporting, as well as to identify data discrepancies- Ability to understand complex automated workflows, and to identify and manage exceptions- Ability to monitor and ensure compliance with processes and procedures, and to identify process improvements
