Product Development Engineer

Job Description
  • Responsible for ensuring the testability and manufacturability of integrated circuits from the component feasibility stage through production ramp.
  • Make significant contributions to design, development and validation of testability circuits. Evaluation, development and debug of complex test methods.
  • Develops and debugs complex software programs to convert design validation vectors and drive complex test equipment.
  • Creates and tests validation and production test hardware solutions.
  • Tests, validates, modifies and redesigns circuits to guarantee component margin to specification.
  • Analyzes and evaluates component specification versus performance to ensure optimal match of component requirements with production equipment capability with specific emphasis on yield analysis and bin split capability.
  • Analyzes early customer returns with emphasis on driving test hole closure activities.
  • Creates and applies concepts for optimizing component production relative to both quality and cost constraints.
  • Autonomously plans and schedules own daily tasks, develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment.

Minimum qualifications

Must have a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in product engineering, board or system level test development or similar based industry experience for BS Candidates MS and PhD candidates experience can be in graduate programs and intern environments
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with a higher-level programming language such as Visual Basic, C/C++, Perl, or similar language either in industry or graduate environments as well as experience debugging code.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in product engineering, board or system level test development or similar based industry experience for BS Candidates MS candidates experience can be in graduate programs and intern environments
  • Prefer experience with a higher-level programming language such as Visual Basic, C/C++, Perl, or similar language either in industry or graduate environments as well as experience debugging code.
  • Experience with hardware skills such as PC platform, BIOS, IO technologies, JTAG, thermal control, power delivery in industry, internship or graduate student environments
  • Experience utilizing troubleshooting skills and techniques necessary to resolve error sources between PCH, microprocessor, software, and PC hardware in industry, internship or graduate student environments
  • Experience with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of DOS, Windows* and/or Linux* operating systems
  • Experience with PCH, processor and PC system architectures.
  • Experience with high speed IO architecture & signal protocols - such as PCIe, SATA & USB.-Experience with system debug tools ITP and/or logic analyzers.
