Job Description

Optimisation of power amplifier PA efficiency by using envelope tracking ET and digital predistortion DPD techniques in modern cellular communications

DESCRIPTION: Nowadays ET and DPD are widely used in mobile communication to improve linearity and efficiency of the PA. Modern standards of communication pose challenges like wider signal bandwidth, larger dynamic range of the radio frequency RF signal, and stringent requirements on the throughput under real-world operation conditions.The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how ET and DPD can be optimised from a system perspective to improve the efficiency of a transmitter to be deployed in modems of new generation.


Programming languages: Matlab, CSound theoretical understanding practical experience is a plus: mathematical analysis, digital signal processing, PA for radio frequency RF applications, large and small signal theory, matching and filters, linear and non-linear systems, metrology and RF testing
