The Sr. Manager, Network Services manages the team responsible for the enterprise network design, build and operations. This includes maintaining existing systems as well as engineering and implementing new technologies to best support business needs. This leader is accountable for keeping costs under control while maintaining focus on ensuring availability and performance exceed expectations. The Manager provides technical and administrative leadership to our internal technical staff as well as overseeing third party vendors who provide systems to Intel. This individual also provides technical consultation and support to other IT management and staff, end users, and business leaders when needed.
Identify and analyze Intel’s network needs across the enterprise, and contribute to the design and evolution of the network architecture
Manage a global team of network engineers working in different time zones.
Proactively work to reduce overall and unit costs and continually improve availability and performance for network (LAN/WAN)
Organize and manage the team effectively and efficiently
Design, engineer, implement and maintain network systems across the enterprise
Develop processes to transition repetitive management and administrative tasks to our GOC.
Emphasis on regular collaboration with Architecture and the peers in the organization.
Maintain high availability and consistent performance of all network traffic including voice & video services
Negotiate service level agreements and support contracts with third-party vendors
Prepare and maintain all documentation for network architecture.
Implement continuous improvement measures and initiatives
Communicate effectively throughout the organization
Stay up-to-date with network, telephony, video, & mobile technology trends and best practices
Recruit, hire, train and develop a high performing team
Set the standard for establishing service levels and managing effectively through usage of key performance indicators and measures
Deliver service availability measures to key stakeholders / business owners
Experience leading a global Network services team which includes 5+ years of people management experience.
At least 8 years of experience as a network engineer in a global enterprise environment.
Experience building and maintaining a strong, high performance team of specialists. Strong operational skills
Understanding of strategic business objectives and the ability to drive results toward those objectives.
Strong knowledge of incident management, problem management, and change management best-practices.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills with high degree of attention to detail.
Ability to manage effectively a geographically dispersed integrated team.
Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, frequently changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
Expert level knowledge Cisco, F5, and Stonesoft/Forcepoint platforms is a plus
A high level understanding of multi-tiered application traffic flow, server load balancing, global load balancing.
Familiarity with ITIL, Agile project delivery, industry standard network management tools, and common application traffic flow patterns in multi-tiered applications
A solid understanding of what comprises a scalable, robust, supportable design
Calmness and clarity of thought under pressure
High levels of integrity in the conduct of personal and professional affairs
Ability to manage budgets and allocate resources effectively for maximum performance
Ability to implement processes, procedures and controls to improve operations in a cost effective manner
