Asia Trade Manager - Intel Security

Job Description

The Asia Trade Manager will lead trade compliance strategy in Asia and develop, implement and maintain programs, policies, procedures and controls to ensure compliance with U.S. Export Law and local law and regulations. The role will be responsible for ensuring compliance and will work across functionally with supply chain, human resources, sales, IT, and order operations.

Responsibilities

  • Extensive experience in Asia-Pacific country import and export requirements, with a particular focus on Hong Kong, Japan, People's Republic of China (PRC), India, South Korea and Singapore.
  • Extensive experience in the international trade arena working for Hong Kong Trade and Industry Department, PRC MOFCOM, Japanese METI, etc., Customs brokers, international freight forwarders, law firms or combination thereof.
  • Subject Matter expertise in all relevant areas of trade compliance (classification, valuation, authorizations [export and import], country of origin, regional trade agreements, etc.) is required
  • Working knowledge of U.S. re export requirements (with strong emphasis on encryption controls) is required
  • The ability to function both as a team and individual player with the ability to shift priorities as required by the global trade compliance team and business operations.
  • Proven ability to define performance metrics and evaluate internal and external service providers
  • Strong analytical skills, be detailed oriented, and posses the ability to anticipate problems and diffuse situations
  • The ability to multi-task and ability to work under time constraints and business priorities
  • Efficient, attention to detail and good problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in English language is required, additional fluency in one or more local non-English language(s) is preferred.
  • Responsible for completing various countries encryption forms (HKTIDs, Japan Parameter sheets)

  • Interpret various export control rules and regulations in which McAfee operates in Asia

  • Ensures export licenses, agreements, logs and records are maintained ,keeping records of all export transactions in accordance with US and local government regulations (Singapore, South Korea, India, Taiwan, etc)

  • Communicate import/export regulatory changes and advise on the impact to the business.

  • Ensure compliance from a research and development perspective (technology transfers)

  • Liaise with various groups within McAfee (Supply Chain, HR, IT, Order Operations)  

  • Point of Contact for non-revenue shipments out of APAC if classification is needed

  • Responsible for auditing order operations and fulfillment partners

  • Ensure end user certificates and/or letters of assurances are obtained when required

  • Build and foster a continuing program of training, education, and cooperation throughout the Asia region for McAfee with regard to Trade Compliance 

  • Provide assistance to order operations for sales orders which require export review and assistance (i.e. export holds, denied party reviews, export license requirements)

  • Contract Review for APAC contracts (working with APAC Legal)

  • Assist Trade Compliance Director on mergers and acquisitions if target company in Asia


Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in international business, business administration, governance, other related disciplines, or equivalent experience in international trade (export, import, Customs)
• 5+ years relevant experience in Trade or Logistics roles
• Experience in managing projects or leading cross-functional teams
• SAP knowledge
• Experience in compiling and delivering training programs
• Strong research and business process development and optimization
