Manage legal business matters pertaining to the organization in Japan
Support the sales team, professional services team and other members of the sales and marketing organization
Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of reseller and end user license agreements professional services agreements, SOWs and other agreements
Advising Human Resources in handling general employment matters for employees in Japan
Negotiate and settle litigation disputes
Manage and establish legal review process for Marketing Department
Ensure compliance with legislation, directives and other regulations
Ensure compliance with Export Regulations
Providing a variety of general corporate and commercial legal services for in-house clients
Acting as an advisor on legal issues involving the organization's government and regulatory compliance including, without limitation, product certifications
Handling general legal matters, including corporate organization, drafting transactional documents, relationships with distributors, resellers and end users of company products and services
Coordinating and managing work of outside counsel

Strong Japanese and English oral and written skills.
Experience in a technology company setting with emphasis in software licensing work and contract drafting skills
Experience with corporate matters, government contracts and compliance matters
Knowledge of the principals of US GAAP and the revenue recognition rules within the software industry is preferred but not mandatory
Experience in managing outside counsel
Ability to handle and prioritize a variety of projects simultaneously with minimal supervision Excellent customer service internal and external skills and a team-player attitude Demonstrated ability to successfully work on and lead teams, and dealing with attorneys and business clients across different geographies
Commercial acumen QUALIFICATIONSCandidates should possess a law degree and Bar / Law Society membership in good standing, with a minimum eight years of legal experience.
