System Validation Engineer

Job Description
In this role the candidate will be responsible for validating the functionality of Intel Xeon Cores in either unit-level testbench and/or full chip. Responsible for the execution of validation plans, and debug of CPU failures on emulation & platforms. Requires interfacing with Architecture, Design, and Pre-silicon Validation teams to resolve bugs & improving post-silicon test content coverage.Creates, defines and develops system validation environment and test suites. Uses and applies emulation and platform-level tools and techniques to ensure features & performance to spec. Creates, defines and develops system validation environment and test suites. Responsible for the development of methodologies, execution of validation plans, and debug of failures. Requires broad understanding of multiple system areas and requires interfaces with Architecture, Design, and Presilicon Validation teams in improving postsilicon test content and providing feedback for future ondie debug features.


BS/MS or equivalent in EE or CS with at least 5-10 years of experience in microprocessor validation, including focused experience in the area of out-of-order execution .CPU micro-architecture including knowledge of areas such as out-of-order execution, processor pipelines, Memory load and store, Cache Coherency, Paging, Microcode etc.Knowledge of CPU assembly, and the ability to understand RTL Verilog and/or System Verilog. Python/Perl Scripting and C/C++ knowledge.High proficiency in independent debug of RTL failures to root-cause functional bugs speedily Familiarity with Emulation environment and tools . Knowledge of Server & SoC platform architectures, post silicon validation and debug tools T32/DCI & flows is a plus.Able to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
