Job Description System Debug Engineer Focusing on Validation Acceleration: Are you looking for a fulfilling and challenging career as an engineer debugging system and IP level issues across Intel's product families? The Debug Process and Closure team is responsible to drive and enable improved debug throughput across the three functional areas of tester, PPV and FV to deliver quicker resolution of all functional and silicon defect issues. By improving the debug TPT on issues we will enable the larger validation and manufacturing teams to deliver their goals. Uses and applies emulation and platform-level tools and techniques to ensure performance to spec. Responsible for the development of debug methodologies and debug of failures. Requires broad understanding of multiple system areas and requires interfaces with Architecture, Design, and Pre-silicon Validation teams in improving post-silicon test content and providing feedback for future on-die debug features. Other responsibilities include: Debug/Root cause support for SV, PPV and DTV supporting pre and post silicon sightings Develop overall team expertise on low-level debug in PQV needed to root-cause si issues and plug test holes oDevelop debug strategies/standards and BKMs across trains oCreate methods to leverage cross functional debug ability/capability oBe the organizational mechanism to share debug learnings across trains Define the interaction model and partner with the MVE vertical debug teams regarding debugging customer issues and debug tool development. Influence standard DFD and debug tools across the product families
Required: BS or MS Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science Understanding of system architecture and/or micro-architecture for processor, PCH, SOC, Servers. Proficiency in being able to drive system level debug leveraging appropriate tools and architectural knowledge to get to root cause Preferred Skills: An ability to understand the bigger picture and connect to dots to drive resolution of system/project level issues to drive larger team forward. Post silicon electrical/mixed-signal circuit validation or circuit marginality validation. Coding skills in C, C#, C++ or other OO programming language OR In a scripting environment (Python or Perl preferred) Knowledge in areas such as Semiconductor device physics, Digital electronics, HVM, VLSI design, Assembly/OS programming, Data structures, Statistical data analysis would be a plus. Experience working in an AGILE environment.
