Sr. Manager SEM/SEO

Job Description

Key Responsibilities & Functions:

  • Work with marketing teams to plan and develop paid search campaigns to meet business needs (awareness, demand gen)
  • Execute tests, collect and analyze data, identify trends and insights in order to achieve maximum ROI
  • Collaborate with agency partner to strategize campaign (keywords, bidding, metrics, budget allocation)
  • Manage campaign expenses, staying on budget, estimating monthly costs and reconcile discrepancies
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive landing page design, optimize copy and creative to improve results and impact
  • Provide regular reporting to key stakeholders on campaign results, learnings and recommendation
  • Partner with analytics team to determine we are capturing the correct set of data and use the data to drive actionable insights
  • Identify and source new keywords for SEO and optimize organic search results for priority branded and generic terms globally
  • Recommend and execute strategies for content development and link building strategy
  • Research and analyze competitor advertising links
  • Coordinate off-page SEO activates including social media and blogging to drive backlinks and keyword authority
  • Stay up to date on industry best practices and apply them as appropriate with the editorial and marketing team and with the development team


  • Bachelors degree and 5+ years hand-on experience managing large global SEM PPC campaigns preferably in the B2B tech industry across Google, Yahoo and Bing
  • Deep understanding of Adwords (keywords and display campaigns) and key campaign metrics (CPC, impression share, CPL)
  • Familiar with Google Analytics and comfortable in using it to pull data and create reporting
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, with the ability to create quality visual presentations (charts and graphs) and proper use of formulas
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills exemplified through professional, timely, and detailed correspondence
  • Knowledge of Adobe Marketing Cloud, Salesforce will be a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills


The SEO/SEM manager is responsible for developing our overall program strategy in-house and/or in partnership with an agency. You are detail oriented, believe in measuring results and passionate about data-driven marketing. This person should be adept in working with a global team and in a dynamic, fast paced environment. The SEO/SEM manager should feel comfortable presenting to senior management on search marketing strategies, results and recommendations. In addition to paid search, this role will also be responsible for driving the company’s SEO strategy working with cross-functional teams.
