Supply Chain Engineer - Indirect Material

Job Description
Design and synchronize the networks and processes that move raw materials and supplies into production facilities, transform them into finished goods, and distribute products to customer markets. Specific responsibilities may vary depending upon the engineering role within the supply chain. Roles can include maintaining quality standards and systems, creating relevant specifications to minimize variability and subjectivity to align with operational and supplier capability requirements. Defines material inspection metrology and methodology. Conducts studies relative to cost control, process control, and production yield and implements plans and programs to optimize supply chain. Works with suppliers to define requirements and holds suppliers accountable for their manufacturing process flow to meet quality, reliability, cost, yield and manufacturability requirements. Drives continuous process and quality improvements.


GSM AEM is looking for a Mechanical Engineering to lead tray metal media development efforts to enable new product roadmaps, support HVM factories quality issues resolutions and affordability targets. The ideal candidates will have knowledge with machine shop processes, metallurgy, surface finishes, design for manufacturability and proficient with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing GD&T. Experience with injection molded parts, stamped metal components and machined/fabricated parts and subassemblies is a must and familiarity with the tooling associated with these process is a plus. The candidate will also have a firm grasp of Supply Chain fundamentals, stakeholder management, and problem solving and results orientation skills. The candidate must be able to work independently in a highly matrixed structure and have excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of relevant experience with Machine Shop Tooling and Processes Experience with CAD and Solid Modeling Software Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance GD&T principles. Basic Knowledge of Design of Experiments, Statistics and Process Flow Familiar with Equipment Development and supplier negotiations Additional preferred attributes: Comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and a strong vision of future technology trends Strong written and verbal communication skills internal/external, team skills, and ability to influence A high level of personal initiative is required upon receiving management guidance and direction Ability to work with customers to define requirements and analyze business processes Experience working across geographies is a plus Formal project management training PMP would be an added advantage Understanding of Assembly Indirect Materials Carriers, Tapes and Trays and Equipment Development for High Volume Manufacturing will be a plus.
