Software Virtualization Expert Engineer f/m

Job Description
We are looking for an experienced expert engineer on software virtualization, supporting system-on-chip (SoC) and software (SW) solutions of Intel's latest automotive and transportation products.This role is about to design and develop VT solutions in SW for Software Defined Cockpit (SDC) and Automated Driving (AD) platforms. A special focus is on audio and low-level HW related driver software in hypervisor systems with shared local chip HW resources in Intel's automotive SoC. The location of the workplace is the Intel Automotive Design Center in Karlsruhe, Germany.Your responsibilities will include but are not be limited to:-Architect interfaces for communicating with hardware for cross-platform solutions in a hypervisor based embedded automotive system.-Consult customers and engineering teams on design and architecture aspects of VT in SDC and AD platforms and provide related specifications and design documents. -Co-develop VT based SDC and AD systems solutions.-Responsible for security requirements and design decisions implications. -May work directly with companies developing and optimizing compilers, operating systems, and other software technologies. -Work on interfaces used in automotive environment like UART, CAN, SPI, I2C, I2S, TDM, SATA, Ethernet, USB and PCIe in a shared mode for multiple guest OSs.-Cooperation with an expert team to support in-circuit / in-system measurements at the target HW, debugging under real time conditions and system bring-up using debug and measurement tools like data acquisition, DSO, Logic and Protocol Analyzers. -Development of small PC-based test tools in a high level SW language, capable running under Linux and/or Windows.-Definition of debug concepts for future products, including connectivity to hard- and software based debug tools.


Qualifications:Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree with an experience of 3+ years.Experience with Xen or any other Hypervisor is required.Domain knowledge of sharing GPU/Audio/ISP between multiple virtual domains would be considered an advantage.Experiences with embedded system design and development for automotive, industrial, or aerospace/military applications Specific knowledge and work experience in SW virtualization technologiesDeep understanding of embedded Systems, hardware related software, boot loader, and drivers.Excellent skills in C and C++ Experiences in LinuxGood experience in debugging hardware and software related issues.Ability to work well in a cross-geographic and cross-team environment.Advanced English communication skills, both written & verbal.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge and experience with different VMMs (Type 1 and Type2)Knowledge and experience with common virtualization and I/O performance enhancement techniques like - Full virtualization, Para-virtualization, PCI passthrough, SRIOV, ...Knowledge about PCI/PCIe and X86 architectureGood knowledge and skills in embedded HW systems and latest generation of high-speed interfaces. General knowledge of areas like Audio/DSP, Security, FUSA, RTOS, Car Network, Linux, Android are a plus.Basic knowledge of security mechanisms and concepts in hard- and software.Functional safety knowledge. Working Knowledge of Linux in embedded applications Experiences with Eclipse and YoctoExperiences with Real-time Operating Systems.Programming skills in Python script language.
