Job Description:Software Architects within Intel's Connected Home Division CHD are designing the future of communication - connecting the growing number of devices within the home with the cloud. You will define the software architecture of our AnyWAN SoCs and systems with fiber Passive Optical Network, PON and DSL family SoCs.You must have the capability to:Define, document and negotiate detailed engineering-level requirements, architecture specifications and acceptance testsCollaborate with customers and marketing teams to clarify objectives and negotiate requirements and support engineering teams in understanding designs and solving the most complex technical problemsInteract with multiple technologists in the company and within the industry as well as between developers and project managers to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for developmentTake a leading role in the software architecture definition and collaborate closely with our silicon architects on the system architecture driving "design for software"


Qualifications

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplineStrong communication and influencing skills are essential, including the ability to work across multiple geographical locations7+ years of experience in networking system aspects, protocols and stacks, such as L2-L6, DHCP, VLAN, IGMP, QoS, VoIP protocols4+ years of hands on experience in Linux Kernel, device drivers, Linux kernel networking and open source 4+ years of experience in system architecture/engineering role covering the following:Designing and leading implementation of complex software and/or system architectures Software engineering including requirements management, architecture definitionDemonstrated experience making effective architectural trade-offs between competing objectives e.g. power versus performance, flexibility versus complexity, etc.Additional QualificationsExperience designing systems or software based on Intel IA and/or MIPS architectureExperience with Opensource projects and communities like Linux kernel kernel.org , OpenWRT openwrt.org etc.Experience with DSL and/or PON standards and management protocolsExperience in SoC and Systems for CPE, routers, gateways, and/or NAS boxes
