Job Description This position requires onsite working at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). This person should be a Lustre file system expert who can: (1) Provide LLNL system administrators and Lustre developers with 'frontline' support of issues arising on any of the ten (10) production Lustre file systems operating in both the classified and unclassified environments at Livermore, and (2) Function as the main liaison between LLNL and Intel's High Performance Data Division (HPDD) on targeted bug resolution of issues that will require updates to the code. Duties will include but will not be limited to: working with LLNS personnel to identify, isolate and create reliable problem reproducers for locally encountered Lustre software bugs; participating in the testing of, and problem root cause identification and resolution of issues with Lustre releases in LLNS environments; being responsible, in conjunction with HPDD, for identifying and facilitating the fixing of locally encountered Lustre bugs as prioritized by LLNL Lustre personnel and ensuring integration of these fixes into the standard Lustre code base.Note that the successful applicant will be required to pursue and obtain a US Department of Energy Q-level security clearance.
Qualifications Advanced Degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 5-10 years of relevant experience. Expertise in HPC and MPI-based applications a plus. Familiarity with NetApp and other vendor provided storage systems a plus.
