Supply Chain Engineer-Mechanical Engineering

Job Description

This is a position for an individual in the IET Interactive and Enabling Technologies commodity Group in Memory & Systems Outsourcing MSO, a central group within Intel's Global Supply Chain Management organization. Responsible for Mechanical Engineering support of Servers, Wearables, SSD, etc.. products for various divisions at Intel. This role plays an integral part in supplier selection and qualification, ensuring supplier process capability and performing FAIs first Article Inspections driving supplier selection to meet technical specifications for the above listed components. Manages external suppliers in areas of supplier selection, sourcing, and issue resolution. Acts as primary interface between suppliers and design and manufacturing teams for all technical quality issues resolution. Demonstrate in depth knowledge in tooling design, Injection molding, die casting, sheet metal fabrication. Should be familiar with working with suppliers to obtain RoHS documentation. Specific responsibilities may vary depending upon the engineering role within the supply chain. Role will include maintaining quality standards and systems, creating relevant specifications to minimize variability and subjectivity to align with operational and supplier capability requirements. Defines material inspection metrology and methodology. Conducts studies relative to cost control, process control, and production yield and implements plans and programs to optimize supply chain. Works with suppliers to define requirements and holds suppliers accountable for their manufacturing process flow to meet quality, reliability, cost, yield and manufacturability requirements. Drives continuous process and quality improvements.


BS Required. MSME Preferred. Minimum BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Tooling Engineering, Plastic Injection molding, metal injection molding, Sheet metal fabrication, die casting and general high volume machining and CNC fixturing design capabilities. The successful candidate will have 6+ years of Mechanical and quality issues resolution. Must be comfortable with Chassis design, tooling layout and able to interpret 2D & 3D drawings. Able to spot, lead, and drive opportunities to closure. Design and system/component level failure analysis experience required. Must be comfortable in leading technical issues to closure. A team player with tactful communication skills. Attention to detail, and a high level of comfort in working with both tactical and strategic activities.
