Member of Technical staff Ckt design

Job Description

As a Ckt design engineer, you will be a member of a talented design team responsible for the development of Altera’s next generation high speed serial IO IP, designed on leading edge technology.  You should have hands-on experience in designing critical blocks on the receive and transmit signal path for transceiver. Examples of design blocks include Rx and Tx AFE, DFE, CDR, Ser, Deser and adaptation.  You will work in a team of highly motivated individuals responsible for mixed signal circuit design, optimization, verification and final integration of mixed signal IP.  You will interface with other departments supporting product characterization, marketing and technical services, debug and final rollout of Altera’s next generation transceiver into the field.  Your specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Block level architecture, understanding of specifications and ckt design
  • Schematic entry and simulation, and extensive layout guidance
  • Verification of design Design review, documentation and presentation
  • Assistance with silicon bring up and post silicon debugging
  • Interface with x-functional teams to gather and negotiate design spec
  • Mentor junior engineers in state of the art design practices


The successful candidate's minimum qualifications will include the following:
o MS or equivalent with a minimum of 5+ years or experience
o Firm knowledge of mixed-signal ckt design and analog layout practices
o Experience in designing production quality high speed blocks in advanced technology nodes like 28nm and below
o Good knowledge and experience with verilogA, matlab, ckt simulators like spectre, hspice, extraction tools and cadence design environment
o Good knowledge and experience with Si validation tools like oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, BERT
o Hands on knowledge of scripting tools like Perl, Python, Visual Basic, or ocean-script Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Self motivated team player
