Candidates must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum qualifications and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through your educational level research and/or relevant job/internship experiences.Minimum qualifications:- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar technical discipline- Be able to demonstrate expertise of work and/or educational experience in the following areas:- Experience with Linux development environments- C/C++ programming; especially developing multi-core/multi-threaded Software- Application and OS storage and memory management- Software development, code tuning, ability to craft and integrate/debug solutions within existing frameworks/code- Strong written and verbal communication skills- Ability to put together data collection scenarios, execute them, and profile platform level performance- Experience developing software prototypes with the specific intent of answering a research question- Experience with workloads and solutions that deal with efficiently moving large amount of data between storage and memory or across machines within a data center or across data centersPreferred qualifications:- Java family of languages- Knowledge of build systems like maven- Knowledge of Intel architecture and processor, in particular memory management- One or more core storage technologies such as: file systems, storage protocols, caching, etc.- Experience with parallel and distributed programming frameworks like SPARK- Experience with machine learning applications, graph libraries and algorithms- Experience with media processing, GPU/accelerator code development and scheduling
