Business Development Manager

Job Description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing strategies and driving plans to give Intel a competitive advantage and understanding/planning for semiconductor equipment and materials industry consolidation. Responsibilities include: Leading cross-functional teams of technology development engineers, supply chain RD engineers, legal, finance, Intel Capital, commodity managers, consultants, and other stakeholders in assessing risks as well as opportunities to shape Intel's supply chain. Identifying and evaluating opportunities in regards to their alignment with Intel technology roadmap; available paths to realization; the risks, rewards, and approaches required from each path; and preparing recommendations to senior management. Performing strategic assessments and providing recommendations in anticipation of and in response to industry developments, such as partnerships, investments, joint ventures, and consolidation activities. Integrating Intel's wafer fab technology roadmap with equipment materials industry trends, competitor strategies, supplier competitive landscapes, regulatory environments, local ecosystem development, and other factors in performing the above activities. Partnering with other Intel sourcing and business development teams to identify and pursue joint collaboration opportunities. Mentoring the rest of the organization with business development activities and strategic risk assessments. Candidates must have a broad understanding of the materials and equipment market landscape, including emerging players. The candidate will also need strong collaboration skills and communication skills necessary to develop relationships and trust with Intel's internal stakeholders (GM/VP level).


Qualifications Masters in Engineering or related technical field or BS in Engineering with an MBA. 7-10 years in the semiconductor industry experience with broad visibility into logic memory wafer fab process technology, interactions with equipment materials suppliers, and business development Broad understanding of semiconductor equipment market landscape Solid understanding of Intel's equipment development roadmap needs Proven ability to negotiate and influence decisions at senior levels Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present analyses and recommendations to senior management Independent self-starter, but also with the ability to contribute as a strong member of a cross-functional team or as the leader of a cross-functional team Work well in ambiguous environments with multiple, shifting priorities
