Description The Intel Omni-Path Fabric Group within the Datacenter Group is looking for a college graduate to join the Performance team as a Fabric Performance Engineer to develop state-of-the-art fabric products for High Performance Computing (HPC). HPC is being used today to help solve some of the world's most challenging scientific needs, including fusion energy, biomedical research, physics, as well as traditional engineering such as aeronautic and automotive engineering. Our products are installed in some of the world's largest HPC clusters. The candidate will be part of a fast-paced performance engineering team working closely with fabric system software developers. The team is involved in analytical modeling, performance projections, software profiling and optimizations, performance measurements/benchmarking, and performance tuning. We are seeking highly motivated candidates who can contribute one or more of the aforementioned activities. The qualified candidate is expected to have good analytical skills with strong oral/written communication skills. The successful candidate will translate analysis of performance bottlenecks into software improvements and architecture refinements. Hands-on programming experience is a must. Qualifications Minimum qualifications: -Bachelor's degree, Master's degree Or PHD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent Additional Preferred Qualifications: -Demonstrated proficiency in C or C++ development in a Linux environment-Working knowledge in performance profiling, tuning, and optimizing of HPC performance-Knowledge of cluster communication Software (Infiniband, HPC, DB Cluster or storage cluster)-Experience with system software such as Linux kernel, device driver, libraries-Broad understanding of HPC systems design, parallel applications design, and parallel applications development tools and runtime environments-Strong written and verbal communication skills
