Big Core Senior Physical Design Engineer

Job Description

Intel’s Big Core CPU design team is hiring senior engineers for our CPU Design team in Folsom, CA. Our team is responsible for our CPU designs going into Intel’s most important client, server/data-center products like core i3, i5, and i7 that can be found in laptops, desktops and servers.

You will be responsible for the design and development of electronic components. Responsibilities may include but not limited to: design of chip layout circuit design, circuit checking, device evaluation and characterization, documentation of specifications, prototype construction and checkout, modification and evaluation of semiconductor devices and components, performing developmental and/or test work, reviewing product requirements and logic diagrams, planning and organizing design projects or phases of design projects. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Candidate must have a Technical Electrical/Computer Engineering Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 10+ years of design experience or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer engineering with at 8 least years of experience in technical design.
  • Knowledge in RTL, VLSI circuit design, synthesis, floor planning, layout, static timing analysis, low power optimization, and quality checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in CPU is preferred.
  • Experience with UNIX, Perl and TCL is also desired.
  • 8+ Years of relevant industry experience
