Malware Support Operations Intern 2017 | England, Aylesbury

Job Description

We are looking for an Engineer with impressive written and spoken English skills, understanding of malware with a willingness to get to know more along with Technical know-how of OS internals and Computer networking to do an internship for our Malware Support Operations team.

The role will involve:

  • Security Data trend analysis linked to large corporate environments
  • DB Query management & Data extrapolation for analytics
  • Exposure to McAfee Product environment and utilizing the know-how for data security analytics
  • Cadence with Data Security Researchers for Analytical offers – customer facing deliveries
  • Maintain a dirty network and malware harvesters and Scan Rig ( access to a fully functional Lab)
  • Liaising with malware analysts and senior researchers, writers and other internal stakeholders, using your expertise to help interpret malware research and draw inferences about current malware trends and their impact in specific environments.
  • Understand McAfee’ products and latest technologies and how they can be leveraged to protect corporate environments in the most efficient manner against the latest emerging threats.
  • Keep abreast with latest market trends on breaches and major security events.
  • To produce analytical reports that can reach a highly technical as well as an executive level audience.
  • Own and curate a portfolio of high-quality analytical research reports ensuring quality, completeness and timeliness.
  • Maintain and manage a malware lab environment involving malware hunting and replication, use of sandboxes and different malware manipulation and intelligence portals.


Qualifications

This is a 13 month fixed-term placement suitable for students currently studying a degree course in relevant disciplines, and is targeted at 3rd year students enrolled in a 4 years bachelor's degree which includes a year in industry.

• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts, related to both malware and technology in general.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and develop and maintain schedules.
• Create design flows for networks and create sustaining mode planning process.
• Design a variety of technical documents.
• Design and develop charts, tables, diagrams, demos and other suitable media, using a variety of software design tools as per need.
• Experience in using a variety of software applications including Microsoft Office.
• Hone your writing skills to a point where you can develop high-quality content for the pieces of communication you design.
• Good presentation skills and the confidence to explain and sell your design ideas to the team
• Attention to detail
• Open to feedback and willing to make changes to your design.
• The ability to innovate, seek process improvements, and come up with brilliant solutions.

All deliverables target a highly technical audience as well as an executive level audience within the largest and highest profile corporate McAfee customers.
