Global Trade Specialist

Job Description

Ensures export of goods or technology complies with applicable government laws and regulations. Responsibilities can include classification of goods or technology being exported, obtaining export licenses, completion or retention of required documentation and compilation of reports. Responsibilities could also include analysis of export processes, programs or projects to determine methods for improving efficiency or effectiveness and coordination with internal and external stakeholders including government authorities.


Qualifications

The preferred candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills and experience: - Establish relationships with business leaders and stakeholders as necessary to support the company's business plans while ensuring compliance with export regulations. - Educate and guide internal customers on information requirements for license and agreement applications.-Must have strong research and process development skills and a thorough understanding of export regulations. -Experience working in a corporate export compliance group preferred including experience with ITAR and EAR export classification, licensing and controls - Ability to make export jurisdiction & classification assessments for services, software, technology and product - Ability to work with minimal supervision in cross-department and global environment. - Ability to work in highly dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environments where juggling multiple urgent tasks is routine. - Ability to formulate and drive recommendations in a rapidly evolving environment. - Strong Program Management skills, communication, influencing strategies and interpersonal skills- Determine the jurisdiction and classification for a range of products, technology, software and technical services/support. - Develop and submit licenses and rulings to appropriate regulatory agency. Education/Experience: -Requires a BA or MBA preferred in Business, Finance, International Trade, or related discipline -Requirement of 7+years of export compliance and/or tech industry and/or with a government contractor. -Experience as an Empowered Official is preferred -Experience making export jurisdiction and classification assessments for services, software, technology and products.
