DevOps Engineer

Job Description
As part of the SSG/Open Source Technology Center and the Zephyr embedded OS development team, this role focuses on boosting the development organization performance through the enabling and the optimization of the operations across development teams, Intel business units, Zephyr project members, IT organizations, and customers. Zephyr Project is a small, scalable real-time operating system for use on resource-constrained systems supporting multiple architectures. More information on the Zephyr project can be found on the project's homepage at https://www.zephyrproject.org/.The position involves: * Design, management and optimization of continuous integration processes. * Application of advanced troubleshooting to automation system problems. * Integration of tests, installs, configures, and/or supports CI software systems. * Maintenance of the project infrastructure. * Design and optimization of the software release process management. * software development of related supplemental systems and support/monitoring tools. * Creation of collaboration bridge with IT organization, QA team and governance entities like the Linux Foundation. Successful candidates will build leadership and confidence across IT organization, governance entities and development teams. Communications skills and collaboration across multi-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

Required Skills * BS Computer Science/Electrical Engineering plus 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering.* Strong understanding & past experience administering & supporting Gerrit and Jenkins servers.* Solid Foundation as a Unix/Linux System Administrator. * In-depth programming experience with UNIX shell scripting. * Mastery of at least one other scripting language such as Perl, Python or Ruby etc. * Demonstrated ability to work on complex system deployment projects in a team environment. * Complete understanding of an Open Source Software Release Processes. * Git Administration. * Outstanding organization, documentation, and communication skills. * Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Desired Skills * 4+ years of prior experience developing and adopting tools for infrastructure and system automation highly desired. * Experience working in open source projects. * Strong motivation to automate routine tasks, past infrastructure and system automation experience desired. * Ability to quickly learn and operate within the current set up and environment. * Willing to speak up to recommend changes and improvement to keep the organization moving forward.
