Director of Infrastructure and tool development

Job Description
Intel's Programmable Solutions Group PSG IP Engineering team develops comprehensive solutions to provide customers easy and efficient access to the capabilities of Intel's FPGA devices. These solutions are provided as highly-configurable intellectual property IP cores that are fully integrated with Intel PSG's software CAD tool.The Programmable IP Engineering PIPE group within Intel PSG is looking for a highly motivated and experienced candidate for a leadership position to manage an IP Infrastructure and Tool Development team. The successful candidate will build and lead a highly productive team responsible for the definition, development, and maintenance of processes, methodologies, infrastructure and tools for the PIPE organization. The infrastructure and tools must be designed to support other IP teams to enable rapid development, verification, and deployment of high quality IPs for Intel FPGA products. Reliability, scalability, cost-effectiveness, and ease-of-use for IP teams will all be key factors in the design of the infrastructure and tools.


Qualifications

Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:The scope of this role includes people management, hands on development, strategic and tactical planning in defining and implementing infrastructure architecture, setting up quality metrics and verification of the tools. Consultation with other IP development teams will be essential throughout the definition and development of new infrastructure. The leader will also work closely with a broader Design Automation team to leverage Intel wide tools and methodologies. This is a highly visible role that will have a major impact in ensuring overall success of Intel PSG FPGA IP solutions. Defining and implementing the infrastructure architecture and methodology to enable development of complex IP solutionsExperience in development of web based tools and scriptingExperience in managing teams responsible for developing comprehensive validation infrastructure that achieves functional quality leading to successful IP solutionsExecution driven project management experience defined by various metrics, leading and lagging indicatorsLeverage coverage driven metrics and constrained random stimulus generation environmentsHighly refined organizational design capability to hire, train and develop capable engineers and managers of a matrix organization The successful candidate will collaborate and partner with other functional organization leaders to achieve delivery of high quality FPGAs and SOCs with fast time to market.Successful candidate must have MS in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience or BS in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of experience.
