OS Software Engineer – FPGA & Accelerators

Job Description
The Windows OS WOS Team is searching for passionate and energetic OS Software Engineers. In this position, you will be responsible for developing, researching, and analyzing operating system software enhancements for Microsoft operating systems OS and virtualization products for the datacenter. You will be working closely with server and cloud architecture and product groups at Intel. If you want to make an impact on Intel's future products, then come join us in the WOS team! Your Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: -Researching, analyzing, and developing operating system software enhancements for Microsoft operating systems OS and FPGA based products. -Researching, implementing and driving adoption of optimized alternatives and algorithms for Windows* OS products. These optimizations will involve security and performance optimizations and feature enhancements to support advanced Intel's microprocessors, chipsets, FPGA based products and platforms. -Reviewing and enabling processor and platform features for core Windows* OS and FPGA based products. -Analyzing and evaluating system and processor errata for current systems and future Intelc processors and platforms. -Defining and driving processor and platform features and architecture definition into future Intelc processors and platforms.


Qualifications

Qualifications:You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through relevant previous job and/or research experiences. Minimum skills and qualifications: -Candidate must possess a minimum of a MS or BS in Computer Engineering, or other relevant degree. -Candidate must have 6+ months of work or educational experience with Intelc architecture. -Candidate must have 6+ months of educational experience in the following areas: FPGA, computer and processor architectures, OS fundamentals, OS internals, and OS-level APIs. -Candidate must have 6+ months experience with platform I/O or networking relevant to FPGAs or acceleration technology. -Candidate must have 6+ months experience with C/C++/ASM programming, data structures or algorithms. Additional Qualifications: -Strong knowledge and hands on experience in OS fundamentals, OS internals, OS-level APIs, kernel debugging, driver development, system level development / prototype. -Proficiency in core technologies such as IO driver stacks and virtualization is highly desired. -Proficiency in FPGA programming or use of FPGA based solutions for acceleration is highly desired. -Expertise resolving kernel and driver issues.
