Intel's Silicon Photonics Product Division SPPD is seeking an experienced test engineer to characterize and validate performance of silicon-based active and passive photonic devices for low cost and energy efficient optical interconnects. You will be part of the photonics component development team and own device testing at the die-level, wafer-level, and subsystem level. Responsibilities include * development and qualification of test infrastructure * development of equipment control software and test automation * definition of test flows and tests to be performed * planning and execution of experiments * analyzing test data, conducting data reviews, and making recommendations * debugging unexpected results and discrepancies The candidate should possess the following behavioral traits - Resourceful and have strong problem solving skills - Able to work independently as well as part of a team - Have good time management skills and is self-motivated - Have strong communication skills
Minimum Qualifications
Must have a MS or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Science or related discipline
Minimum 4 years of experience with optical communications, fiber optics, integrated optics, WDM technology, or semiconductor physics as related to photonics devices
Minimum 3 years of experience in optical and electrical characterization of photonic devices at the die-level or wafer-level
Hands-on experience with lasers, optical modulators, or modulators, or photodetectors
Hands-on experience with chip-level electrical probing
Preferred qualifications:
2+ years of experience in automation of data acquisition and analysis
Hands-on experience with fiber-to-waveguide optical alignment - Hands-on experience with high speed testing involving VNAs, PPGs, DCAs, EDson experience with fiber-to-waveguide optical alignment
