Director, SW Engineering

Job Description
Manages a team of software professionals including but not limited to engineers, architects, technical writers and technical consultants who are responsible for delivering results over many areas of the software lifecycle: design, developing, debugging, validating, and optimization, customer engagement and product support. This might include systems software, drivers, high performance computing, development tools, enterprise applications, consumer applications or user interfaces. May also be required to provide architectural and technical guidance, and ensure that sound engineering practices are followed. Provides direction and goals to the group and interacts with stakeholders both internal and external.


Qualifications

This person will be responsible for the following: Drive the execution and delivery of SW and FW stacks for Quark products spanning microcontrollers, microprocessors and other roadmap products Manage the SW engineering team in Ireland including building the technical & management capability and staffing of needed resources. Passionately lead the journey towards SW operational excellence including implementation of key process eg. AGILE and proactively address challenges. Be fairly hands on in project deliveries, drive effective prioritization, build strong partnership/collaboration with other teams across the world. Successful candidates should have a proven background in rapid paced, systems level engineering execution in the IOT or related domains. Overall experience should 15+ years. He/she should be a results oriented motivational leader with a strong track record of leading 100+ member teams. This person should be highly self-driven and motivated. The role by its very nature will have a fair amount of ambiguity and the candidate will be expected to chart their own paths within the larger framework of the role as well as the IOTG/SSED vision and lead the team accordingly. Excellent communication and influencing skills are required. A minimum of Bachelors in Engineering required.
