Internship - Outsourcing Strategy Analyst

Job Description

6-month internship: outsourcing strategy analyst

Context: most of the Integrated Design and Manufacturing houses (including Intel) use the same supply chains for multiple product applications. This trend jointly with the dynamics of the fabless ecosystem impacts the cost, time to market and performance/features of those competitive products and has become a major area of interest for any strategic development (technology decision, opportunity analysis, business development, etc.)

Topics addressed by this internship:

Foundry customer analysis

- Analyze price/cost aspects of major foundry customers

  • prepare initial assessment based on existing tool framework and based on reverse engineering intelligence
  • study 3rd party tool assumptions
  • propose competitive price/cost guidelines

- Improve existing foundry customer model

  • extension of node set and time horizon
  • improvement of sensitivity estimations
  • introduction of IDM/fabless considerations

Semiconductor market trends

  • Refresh/improve our dashboard framework
  • Enable/propose future research projects


Qualifications

- Student, currently pursuing a master in engineering/business related discipline, with a solid interest in the technology sector. Knowledge about supply chain management and competitive strategy appreciated.
- Based in Munich, fluent English required
- Comfortable working in a self-directed and self-motivating environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel (advanced level)
