Senior Graphics Software Architect

Job Description

If you’re a Graphics expert looking to make high impact on products that are used by millions of people, then our Visual and Parallel Computing Group (VPG) has opportunities for you. VPG delivers Intel's 3D graphics, media, display GPU, and Parallel Computing Technology. In this role you will be part of the team responsible for delivering designs  for Intel GPUs. Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: - Defining 3D and Compute SW API and driver specifications that leverages advanced hardware capabilities found in Intel GPUs - Research / implement changes in the SW stack and work with HW architects on 3D/Compute APIs - Lead SW performance analysis across the entire stack – Application, API/OS framework, Compiler, Driver, Hardware - Engagement with Gaming Software Vendors for architecting and optimizing their applications for Intel CPUs and GPUs You must be a self-starter with demonstrated technical leadership, experience and expertise in advanced 3D architectures. You should be able to work productively in early development environments and with evolving requirements. In addition, you must have strong communication and teamwork skills, and be able to work productively with a variety of hardware and software specialists located across the globe.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Candidate must have a Master’s degree with 10+ years’ experience, or a PhD with 5+ years’ experience. Degree should be in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. Experience should be in the following areas: - Must be proficient with Industry leading API’s such as DirectX, OGL, Vulkan and Metal - 5+ years of experience with Graphics drivers and OS architecture - Deep understanding of GPU hardware pipelines - Experience with C/C++ programming Preferred Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience with macOS, Linux, or other Unix like operating system - Expertise in GPGPU programming via Metal, OpenCL or DX Compute - Experience with kernel-mode device drivers on macOS
