Intel Security plans to be an independent McAfee in 2017, delivering proactive, proven security solutions and services that protect systems, networks, and mobile devices for business and personal use around the world. We are looking for a senior attorney to represent a diverse group of global clients on legal issues related to privacy, data and cybersecurity, and compliance, and work in a team environment with other legal and business professionals around the world.
A Day In The Life:
Counseling clients on all aspects of domestic and international laws concerning privacy, data security, and cybersecurity
Assisting business teams on incorporating privacy by design into products/services and adopting innovative privacy solutions from inception to end-of-life
Providing privacy and security impact assessments and compliance counseling to business teams, including growth businesses and new technologies
Counseling clients on privacy and security incident preparedness and management
Providing privacy and security due diligence, integration, and coordination for acquired companies
Researching and tracking global privacy and security legislation, evolving regulations, and enforcement and translating that into practical advice
Training employees and other attorneys on privacy and security legal compliance Collaborating with colleagues across organizations and geographies abroad to create global solutions to our biggest enterprise customer challenges
Inside this Business Group
J.D. with a minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience
Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
Strong substantive knowledge of US privacy and Data Protection law, including emerging trends in the various states, and a working knowledge of international privacy laws, particularly in the EU
Ability to independently manage a diverse and complex workload while maintaining priorities and proactively anticipating issues
Consistent good judgment and ability to apply legal knowledge to help create practical business solutions
Strong teaming skills approaches work with flexibility and a positive attitude, and constructively manages change
Strong strategic thinking and project management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A sense of humor
Experience in the computer industry and/or in-house legal work would be an added advantage, as well as CIPP certification
