Federal Income Tax Manager

Job Description
Manage and review the preparation of the Company's federal consolidated income tax return and related work products for accuracy and completeness.Manage and review the preparation of the quarterly federal estimated tax payment and annual extension. Manage and review tax cash flows in the budgeting and forecasting process.Assist with the quarterly tax provision including preparing and reviewing permanent items, deferred proof analysis, provision to return true-ups and analysis and documentation for ASC 740-10 FIN 48 reserves.Design and monitor the SOX compliance internal controls for domestic tax compliance related inputs.Review large and complex schedule M adjustments DMD, UNICAP, Depreciation, etc., various tax credits including R&D, and M&A related entries.Perform research of relevant tax laws, regulations and rulings to determine proper tax return filing positions.Collaborate with other tax groups, business partners and external advisors to evaluate proposed transactions and investments, with focus on federal income tax implications.Support the federal corporate income tax audit. Prepare and review responses to IRS IDRs and other information requests.Manage a team of 9 direct staff members. Train and motivate staff to meet departmental goals. Focus on efficiency by constantly monitoring and improving upon the existing processes, effectively managing resources and optimizing software and technology.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree Accounting, Business or Finance preferred. CPA and/or MST required.Minimum 12-15 years of corporate tax experience in a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department.Experience managing tax compliance requirements and processes for large multi-national technology companies.Ability to effectively lead and manage a team of diverse tax professionals with an emphasis on technical and career development. Excellent project management and leadership skills with an ability to manage shifting priorities.Strong tax technical and accounting skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate technical issues clearly and work effectively with all levels of leadership.Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
