Packaging Engineer

Job Description
Customer Scale Engineering & Production team is seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer. Primary responsibilities will be developing and designing structural packaging for retail and distribution-type products. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: - Developing packaging that can operate on manual and automated packaging manufacturing equipment - Conducting environmental tests such as: shock, vibration, compression and ESD static dissipative and decay tests - Driving packaging engineering issues and/or improvements through numerous Intel divisions for PE consensus and accountability - Creating CAD drawings of packaging components for production purposes - Working with numerous internal and external groups to successfully launch products - Performing design-for-manufacturability (DFM) with manufacturing counterparts


Qualifications

You should possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging Engineering with one to five years of Packaging Engineering experience in a retail product environment. Additional qualifications include: - Be proficient in Solidworks (ver 2014 preferred) and ArtiosCAD (ver 14) with an understanding of drafting principles per ANSI Y14.5M standard. - Have extensive design experience in corrugated, folding cartons, plastic thermoforms, and fabricated and molded cushioning foams - Have knowledge of packaging printing processes; material selection; material production and processes; and innovative package design capability - Have solid understanding of shock and vibration principles - Be knowledgeable of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) properties of various packaging materials - Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time with little direction - Excellent communication skills with internal and external groups - Understanding of Bills of Materials and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
