As a Senior CPU micro-architect and design expert, your responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Selecting, designing and delivering a microarchitecture, methodology, or other significant aspect of a high performance CPU Core IP design with a high degree of independence.
Analyzing multiple arch, uarch and circuit options to find the optimal design point considering power/performance/area/cost tradeoffs
Developing a functional block/unit RTL model then integrating and validating.
Implementing and simulating high performance, power optimized circuits, ranging from full custom through full synthesis, meeting all product design and quality requirements.
Planning and directing the circuit layout physical implementation and block integration with technicians.
Influencing program direction with technical proposals, analysis and recommendations.
Planning and leading the efforts of junior technical staff members including mentoring.

Candidates must possess the minimum requirements listed below to be considered for this position. The Preferred Requirements will help distinguish top candidates. Experience can be satisfied through a combination of school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering plus 4 years of relevant work experience OR B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering plus 6 years of relevant work experience.
Total of 6+ years of work or educational experience in the following areas:
Computer architecture, including technical ownership/expertise relevant to Out-of-Order (OOO) CPUs- RTL Verilog, V2K, or SystemVerilog with a working knowledge of hardware modeling issues and logic debug environments
Modern energy-efficient/low-power logic design techniques, including those specifically applicable to high frequency optimization
High speed digital circuit design and verification on deep sub- micron processes, including circuit planning and physical layout
Industry standard circuit design tools, including schematic capture, logic synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis and design closure - Scripting in Perl, Python, Ruby, TCL, or some other scripting language Strong communication and collaboration skills, including a willingness to work with others, and the ability to tolerate ambiguity and highly complex decision environments.
Knowledge of Intel Architecture ISA and system architecture, including x86 assembly language
Intel or Industry experience in a specific high performance CPU design
Research publications, patent filings, or other evidence of personal technical innovation in CPU design
Familiarity with pre-si and post-si hardware validation and debug
