QA Engineer Cognitive Computing Platform

Job Description

Intel is in the midst of an exciting transformation, going beyond being a company that makes the world's best chip to one that also delivers AI experiences to people. This is no longer about system libraries and device drivers at Intel. Big data technologies like Hadoop, Kafka and Samza, multi-tenant and distributed applications and in the center of it all the cutting-edge cognitive computing platform. 

We are looking for an innovative self-starter to help us with automated and manual QA. 

Our platform will power both enterprise server software and cloud-based SaaS offerings, enabling Intel, its customers, and its partners to create and manage smarter applications and devices. You will have an opportunity to work on System administration , troubleshooting systems, networking, Installs and upgrades, clusters, High Availability platforms, Docker containers 
Database configurations - Mysql, Oracle, cassandra etc. Web/app servers - Tomcat, Apache; validate REST APIs, set up Customer Simulation environments, work closely with Product owners, development, pre sales, post sales and support teams.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manual and automated testing 
  • REST concepts, Continuos Integration and continuos Deployment experience 
  • QA mind set - find ways to break code 
  • Scripting/programming experience 
  • Enterprise and distributed software testing experience. 
  • Automation experience using some form of scripting/programming languages (pref: Java/Python). 
  • Some experience in scalability, performance and reliability testing (PSR testing) 
  • Experience in writing test scenario, test case, test plan preparation, test execution and defect/bug management. 
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex test environment and systems 
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VirtualBox, Docker, VMWare)

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline and 5+ years of relevant software QA experience, testing enterprise software products or web applications, developing and documenting test plans and release plans. 

You should have at least 5+ years of experience in the following: 

  • REST concepts, Continuos Integration and continuos Deployment experience 
  • QA mind set - find ways to break code 
  • Scripting/programming experience 
  • Experience with 1-2 major QA automation platforms (e.g. Selenium) 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Grails 
  • Experience with at least one "big data" framework or distributed datastore (e.g. Hadoop Map-Reduce, Samza, Spark, Solr, Cassandra, HBase, MongoDB, Dynamo, Zookeeper), ETL. 
  • Experience with Hadoop YARN or Apache Mesos 
  • Sound knowledge on product and applications security. 
  • Experience in BDD testing(Behavior-Driven Development) and Cucumber 
  • Experience with Java 8 
  • Mobile App Testing experience
