Intel FPGA (formerly Altera) is looking for an outstanding engineer who understands control system hardware and embedded software for machinery or robotics, who can develop new concepts and reference designs to demonstrate the advantages of combined processor and FPGA for multi-axis control including machine vision with secure communications.
Work may include demonstrating Embedded Control and Functional Safety system solutions to our customers, at sites round the world and at key trade shows such as SPS IPC Drives in Nuremberg, Germany and CES in Las Vegas, USA.
The role is based in High Wycombe, 40mins from central London and Oxford.
Inside this Business Group
•MEng or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with excellent results.
•Interest in FPGAs, embedded control systems and functional safety.
•Understand system design in machines or robots, multi-axis motion control and machine vision
•FPGA hardware design skills or willingness to learn (Verilog or VHDL).
•Understand embedded software design concepts.
•Self-starter who is able to set their own goals and deliver output to a high standard.
•Good interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to apply sound judgement.
•Good problem solving skills
