Job Description Our goal within Intel Visual and Parallel computing technology Group (VPG) is to enable users to immerse themselves into new experiences leveraging our leading edge Graphics, Media and Display offerings. The VPG Solutions Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the development of Solutions and Experiences that leverage the graphics, media, GPU compute and display IP from VPG. This includes but is not limited to experiences around Virtual Reality, Graphics Virtualization/Remoting and GPU based Machine Learning. The VPG Solutions Engineering Manager is responsible for building and leading a highly effective team of visual computing Architects and Software Development engineers. What You Will Do: -Leads a team of architects and development engineers to be effective in the design, development, and implementation of various solutions. Actively participating in the engineering process. -Sets direction for the VPG solutions and experiences engineering roadmap. -Provides technical leadership and expertise about the feature set or domain supported by their team. -Serves as technology advisor to the business on all aspects of visual computing technology trends and novel solutions specific to their respective domain or feature set. -Stays on the top of the latest technological progress and use this knowledge to ensure our IP and solutions remain marketable and competitive. -Acquires and allocates resources. Validates resource utilization to assure efficient deployment of team members. -Manages advancement and deployment of specific disciplines and technologies. -Assigns duties and is accountable for achievement of departmental objectives by all subordinates. -Provides ongoing employee development to ensure efficient operation of the function. Guides development staff in promoting high performance culture and cost effectiveness across the entire team. -Promotes sharing of domain expertise and knowledge across the team.-Supports their manager by leading special projects and/or providing input regarding possible process improvements, organization changes, resource needs, etc.
-Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related disciplines. -12+ years in software development with a proven track record of building and leading successful engineering teams. -Extensive experience in visual computing technologies: 3D graphics, media, GPU compute and display. -Extensive experience with various technologies required for developing web based, workflow based, and client based applications. -Extensive experience with various Windows non-Windows automation frameworks and framework integrations to achieve best optimized solution. -Proven experience in executing system level integration of various software functions. -Strong experience in effective coordination with remote teams in bringing issues to closure. -Hands-on knowledge of industry accepted software best practices and project management skills are required. -Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong team player with ability to work with counterparts located at different sites, willingness to learn new technologies.
