Internal Linux Integration Kernel and Image Maintainer

Job Description
The Open Source Technology Center Power ManagementEnabling Team works to enable and optimize the upstream Linux kernel forcurrent and future versions of Intel Xeon, Core and Atom Processors. In thecourse of enabling these platforms, numerous power tests are run to collectdata on changes made to the kernel to understand the power impact. These kernelchanges and enhancements come from many different sources and need to beapplied to the latest Linux kernel release candidate. Once that happens, thereare automated tests performed on the kernel and image before it is released foranyone interested in using it for testing or development across Intel. The rolefor the kernel and image maintainer is to work with the repository maintainersacross Intel to ensure patches are prepared for the kernel/image build. Todebug any issues that are found in the merge and build process to ensure thedaily image is released. To build upon the existing automation infrastructureand extend it to require less user intervention when there are merge/buildconflicts. To rebase the Yocto based image to new versions as they becomeavailable. And finally to ensure the wiki is updated and current forkernel/image users to get access to the latest information.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to beinitially considered for this position. Experience listed below would beobtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/orrelevant previous job and/or internship experiences. Minimum Requirements:- Must be pursuing aBS,MS or PhDin Computer Science orComputer Engineering- Minimum of 1 year experience in:-Scriptinglanguages (Python, etc) and desire to learn others-WithYocto -With Git and aworking knowledge of source code management (open source preferred)
