Embedded Systems Engineer - Graphics (m or f)

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer interested in supporting the development of Intel's latest automotive and transportation products. In this position, you will be part of the hardware development team at Intel's Automotive Center in Karlsruhe, specifically working in the graphics domain. Therefore you will support the bring-up, test and validation of the graphical interfaces HDMI, DP, eDP, MIPI-DSI and MIPI-CSI.

Candidates responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Adaption and implementation of graphics drivers within our Linux SW stack.
  • Bring-up of HDMI, DP, eDP, MIPI-DSI and MIPI-CSI in our embedded automotive systems.
  • Support for the electrical validation and the design verification of the graphical interfaces.
  • Selection and implementation of graphical demos and small test tools in a high level SW language, capable running under Linux and/or Windows.
  • Support for test development of graphical interfaces.
  • Cooperation with an international expert team to define next generation graphic requirements and implementations.

Skills we are looking for:

  • A strong analytical mind with first-rate problem solving skills
  • Experienced in embedded Linux environment, especially in the graphics domain
  • Deep knowledge of graphical interfaces and their specifications
  • Ability to work well in a cross-site cross-team environment

Qualifications:

  • Development experience in the graphics domain of embedded systems and some of the following interfaces: HDMI, DP, eDP, MIPI-DSI and MIPI-CSI.
  • Debugging skills and practice in the use of debugging tools and hardware measurement equipment
  • Linux experience and development expertise in the domain Xserver, Weston, V4L, graphic device and sub-device drivers.
  • Knowledge of OpenGL and OpenGL ES is of advantage
  • Knowledge of graphics / memory usage performance profiling is of advantage
  • Good communication skills in English written and spoken
  • Basic communication skills in German are of advantage
  • Recent graduates with some experience in the graphics domain are welcome to apply as well
